Schengen up to 24

Journey, News No Comments »

When i told you many times that our European passport has now more value than your US passport :p
Too late now, i’m not “very single” anymore hehehe
(however, still working on “how to get a US passport “someday” :/ ; and with a girlfriend with a vietnamese passport, it won’t really help much ^_^ )

So since yesterday, December 21st, first day of winter, 9 more countries join the Schengen’s space.
For any european backpack travellers citizens of those 24 countries, it means that you can visit those 24 countries without any visa needed or passport ; just a simple ID card is requested.

My fashion haircut !

(sorry but i don’t have any new haircut :p)

First time i when back to VN in 2001, despite of the large users of light motorcycles, helmet was not even in vietnamese vocabulary. What is it for ? What is the need ?
At first, it was kinda freaking escpecially on long distance.
I’m a motorcycle driver since 1994 and had 2 crashes in 1995 and 1996 :p ; so i know how the helmet is really usefull since it is our only one protection.
However, with the weather, atmosphere in vietnam, plus the fact you mostly drive in the city and never speeding, you easily get used to not use any helmet.
Plus carry it is quite painful !

I’m not so sure, but the first time i saw a helmet in vietnam was during my vacation 2005. Its use was required in “highways” but optional in the city.
Honestly, on long distance, it was really safier.
My first long trip by motorcycle in 2002 was pretty freaking. I was so scared to receive at any moment a stone or whatever in my face … while speeding :p

So it is quite easy to guess that except in highways, just a few vietnamese used helmets.
Since yesterday, 100% of vietnamese have to use helmet even in the city and short distance.
As long as your ass are in your bike, you have to get a helmet.

Let’s say, 10% a day before and 99% the day after !

Only if your president could do the same without any http://www.christblog.eu/2007/10/17/rue-de-la-greve/ (!) lol

When i heard about this new rule, the first thing coming up to my mind was :
“flying like a bird is over”
“erf gotta need 2 tickets now and be in line twice (!!) ; once to park the 2 wheels and another one to consign the helmet before to get into a mall :/ ; not really practical”.

I told about my girlfriend about this and the first thing coming up to her mind was :
“what a stupid rule ! how about my hair cut ?”

hahaha probably not the only one girl to think so :D

Here’s 2 videos from youtube made in vietnam ^_^

Probably the business of the year : selling helmet ! ^_^

“Catch me if you can officer” lol

An entire month without any ticket.
By the way, who noticed it ? I’m pretty sure no one ^_^
Maybe the day i’ll stop the beta-max thing, i’ll have to move my ass to “spread” this link. But i need to find any motivation first. That i still don’t have ^_^ despite of receiving my second bill for the domain name anh hostspace O_o

For the 1st december, here is a weird ancestral custom from … Kyrgyzstan.

You might ask me what’s the f… ; why am i talking about Kyrgyzstan ? I’m pretty sure you are not able to localize it in a world map. Don’t you even know it refers to a country ? :p (sowyyy :p )
So wiki is your friend as Google is my best friend ^_^

Last day i saw a tv report about … … … (pretty sure you have the answer ^_^) … … … an ancestral custom from Kyrgyzstan.
I missed the beginning of the report (damned Prison Break S3 ep01 on the other french channel which i have already seen somewhere in the Internet) but it seems like the custom was suspended during the country under USSR administration and was back since the independance of the country somehow at the beginning of the 90′. (Red were not that bad after all :D)

As the title said, the silly custom is about “kidnapping your future wife” !
Yep ; i haven’t done any mistake ; you read “k-i-d-n-a-p” !

Wow

Look at this picture :

(found here : www.limoges360.com)

I love it ! ^_^ ; it reminds me Kaio’s “little planet” (at least it was the name in french) ; you know the place where San Goku (Dragon Ball) :D spent most of his time anytime he’s got a ring over his head (sorry for the great reference :p )

Visit the author website (also in english) for more Little Planets and get a pretty neat tour thru Limoges (center west of France) !

(aka Orange County Chopper in the US)

That’s really pathetic.

And here is the one in France (poor quality though ; french dub)
The same 4 dumbs in a french restaurant.
Silly restaurant, no english at all ; those 4 dumbs ask the waitress to bring … whatever lol
They got snails, frog legs and something more familiar to them ! lol

(need to find the whole file ; the part after is in Paris)

(erf ; the gorgeous hair cut = “long hair” + “hair in the wind / no helmet” ) ^_^

You might ask me what the point between the title and the picture above ?

It is quite simple.

Here, “cut” doesn’t mean “cut” (cut papers, cut my finger, …) but it means “shit” in … vietnamese :p

So in the picture above, you can see a “cuc cut” (a piece of shit)

I should say “cut cut nho” (a small piece of shit) ; in opposition, “cuc cut to” is “a big piece of shit”.

I didn’t mean it but that was your second vietnamese language lesson. The first was here.

(click on “read more” to see a “cuc cut to:D ) Read the rest of this entry »
