… and i’ll have my first iPod ^_^

Yes i’m an “anti” iPod ! The player that EVERYBODY own !
However only idiots do not change their mind :p

Currently, i’m using an Archos Gmini but most of the time, my cell SE K800i does the job pretty well though.

So yesterday, Simon, oops Steve Jobs, Apple’s big boss, did some annoucements about Apple’s new products.

What do we have ?

Don’t count on me to be accurate on the entire new products list ; i only have noticed 3 points :

• the old worldwide known iPod is now renamed iPod Classic (and is now a bit larger ?). Both 80Go (!!) and 160Go (!!) are respectively thinner than the previous 30 and 80Go !

• The new iPod nano is a lot larger ; for me the charm of the previous nano was his tiny size. What is the point to get a larger screen in an already small screen ?

• the iPod that everyone expected a long time ago (with a large tactil screen) is finally out and is called : iPod Touch !

The Gold and Black brand finally made an official announce about their DSLRs camera.

The one i’m interested in : D300.

What is new to compare to its elder D200 ?

• a brand new (?) 12.3 megapixel CMOS sensor ; origine ? Instead of a 10.2 megapixel CCD sensor from Sony. Again, more it has pixels doesn’t mean the picture will be better however i have a preference for a CMOS sencor.
• Anti durst ! Gadget or really effective ?
• New AF 51 points ! Who needs so much while others “only” have 11/15 ?
• Auto-focus tracking by color ; need to see that !
• Live View with 2 AF mode ! Allows to “point and shoot” thru its LCD screen
• HDMI HD video output - GREAT but useless to me :p
• viewfinder : 100% frame coverage ! WYSIWYG !
• … and much more ; those above are the one which “poped to my eyes first”.

Availability : November 2007

To compare to my D70s ?

Hmmmmm …

I don’t care about those 12megapixel ; since i burn ALL my pictures, i’ll miss the 6megapixel sensor of the D70s.
800 iso not really usable on the D70s ; too noisy !
Continious shooting limited with the D70s (4 shots in raw mode)
Live View available ! Not need to curve yourself to shoot near the ground or when you cannot put your eyes into the viewfinder.
Reactive and faster AF.

In the every day life, it is a pain lol

Instead of getting a fight between HD-DVD (Toshiba) and Blue Ray (Sony), they better have to find a way to get an universal format for those “black boxes” lol

I know, it is quite impossible but ………… who knows ! ^_^

The beginning of the story here.

I used my “lovely” Archos Av480 (80Go) for months and i sold it the past october 2005 when the new model came out : Archos AV5×0.
2 versions were available :

• Av530 => 1,8″ hdd 30Go (the one i chose since 80Go were a bit too much ; 30Go were not enought though but the price of the 100Go version was insane ! )
• Av5100 => 2.5″ hdd 100Go

As far as I really enjoyed to daily use my AV480, i never enjoyed to use the new one.
In a week row, i got 3 differents machines ! lol
What was the problem ?
On battery it worked really well but as soon as it was plugged to the power adaptor, ……. pouf …… it never worked more than 5 minutes lol
Weirdly, 3 of them got the same power supply bug :/ And no response from Archos !

In spite of the new superb screen, i didn’t kept it.
Unfortunately my “lovely” Av480 was sold hahaha

Result : once i returned the brand new Archos Av530, i spent part of my return money on DVDs and i got a Nintendo DS instead

Pffffff it made me feel like trading a 800euros PMP (portable multimedia player) against a Nintendo DS (less than 150euros) hahahaha

Wanna be my partner in business ?

Recently, I got a second hand ….. Archos Gmini420 !

Laptop, tablet PC, pocket PC, …… Some were too “big”, some were too small, some uneasy to use.
A new category of device is coming soon : UMPC (stands for Ultra Mobil PC) ; perfect size to be carried no matter what while seating on your ….. throne :p

Gimmick’s day. ^_^

Sony Ericsson announced 2 weeks ago or so a sexy brand new cell phone available somehow during the 2nd quarter.
(It seems like bothe K790 and K800 are the same except that K790 supports Edge technology and K800 supports UMTS technology)

(check its specifications)

All i’m interested about is :

• MP3 player
• FM radio
• Cybershot as a point and shoot digital camera : 3.2 Megapixel (more than enough ; Samsung announced few days after a 10megapixels (!!) completly useless unless you want to waste your money on huge memory card to store your picture !! autofocus and flash support ; ….
• and that is it lol

Even if it does a lot more (internet, bluetooth, …..) i don’t care a bit lol

Accessorily, it is said we can also use it to give and receive calls ……. probably the useless feature
(remember ? i hate phone ^_^ and cellphones are like evil to me ! The worse invention ever ever)

Yep i like the all-in-one concept. I use to not but i assume the concept is quite mature now.
A Cybershot as a point an shoot camera, … that is pretty neat !

Here is a tutorial step-by-step “how to loose the warranty of your mini iPod” lol

Personnaly, i wanted to open it to remove the 4Go Hitachi microdrive.

Why ? Many digital SLR cameras support microdrive. And planning to get a DSLR soon, i just wanted to make sure if the mini iPod’s microdrive could be used with a DSLR.

First remove the white cap. Use a thin flat screwer. Be careful to not scratch the border of the iPod.
The white cap is simply sellotaped.
Then removed 2 screws as marked above.

In that time i couldn’t make the clock diplays more than 7.800 rpm
After practicing hard (in fact, not really lol), 11.500 finally shown up ; gg me lol
