You might ask me what the point between the title and the picture above ?

It is quite simple.

Here, “cut” doesn’t mean “cut” (cut papers, cut my finger, …) but it means “shit” in … vietnamese :p

So in the picture above, you can see a “cuc cut” (a piece of shit)

I should say “cut cut nho” (a small piece of shit) ; in opposition, “cuc cut to” is “a big piece of shit”.

I didn’t mean it but that was your second vietnamese language lesson. The first was here.

The huge Coke can is real ; not a fake made with photoshop : damn cloudy day !
I kinda hallucinate when i saw the huge can far away.
In a vietnamese (still red) touristic attraction park, symbol of capitalism proudly stands as being the symbol of the park !

Probably to promote Coca Cola when it entered into the vietnamese market ; early in that time, one of the condition to Coca cola to get into the market was a joint venture or so with the vietnamese government.

I think in that time it was like a year ago when Bill Gates or Intel wanted to invest in Vietnam ; those special guests trod vn soil on a red carpet

From coco leaders, it might was “woaaaa, Coca Cola comes to VN with millions and millions ; we have to be in !”

So Coca Cola Vietnam was a joint venture between the vn government and Coca Cola inc.

What happened next in that beloved wedding ?

Coca Cola was now in the vn’s market. That is all Coca Cola cares about.
Coca Cola is a worldwide company. Coke looses here few millions but earns billions elsewhere. For Coca Cola inc, it doesn’t matter.

So Coca Cola lost money during its first years. Therefore the vietnamese government also lost big money instead of making huge money hahaha
After years of debt, the government decided to get out of the none profit business wedding.

Since then, Coca Cola Vietnam makes profits hahahaha

By the way, those past 2 or 3 years in Vietnam, i don’t know what happened to Coca Cola but sometimes it was pretty hard to find a Coke ! Meanwhile Pepsi was everywhere !

Still wondering.

You might have heard about Mattel and Fisher Price’s recalls lately. About 20 millions (!!!) toys are recalled.

In fact, over the fact that those toys are recalls due to tiny magnets and paint containing pb there is a point that the media (at least in France) didn’t refered to.

As being a manufacturer, recall products is not a “problem”. Sometimes it occurs. Even Sony had to recall millions and millions laptop batteries a year ago. And lately, some cybershot were recalled too. And i doubt that those T5 series are made in China.

In June, a director of a factory killed himself after a recall of his products (fr) ; same problem : paint containing pb.

You do not kill yourself unless you are guilty of something !

So i was just wondering if it was possible that some directors’ factories in China could provide fake certificates for our custom’s approval ?

I mean, when i see a friend trying to import some goods in the country, the custom services required so many certificates ! No certificate, no goods !
How toys paint containing pb could get the approval from the custom service ? O_o

After Londoner and Singaporean, New Yorker ? (Manhattan … how do you call people living in Manhattan ? Manhattaner ? << sounds weird)

It seems like you’re goanna have to pay $8 (car) and $~21(trucks) during week day and office time to get into Manhattan.

Hope a such tax will never reach Paris ! (even if some already talk about for an audit !) ; and hope, for once, France, as always, will be the last ^_^

So $8 to get in the city, $7 more to park your car and more again for any metro/bus tickets ! Waouch !
