:An Italian tourist died in Paris’ tube:
News August 16th, 2007When I first met my gf from Germany, she told me :
“I have heard and friends of mine told me that Paris is not safe ; streets are dangerous and we have to hold our hand bag tight bc of pick pockets in the metro”.
I had told her :
“pfff i grew up here, i have never lost anything, nobody robbed me and i never got any troubles in the metro even at midnight with desert trains. For sure there is some robbers (as anywhere) but as far as you pay attention on your stuffs, so yes i assume Paris is safe.”
When i visit Germany, her friends ask me the same thing ; her aunt too. Each time i have to say : “no, it is an urban legend ; Paris is pretty safe !”
On sunday afternoon, in a metro station near by the Eiffel Tower, an Italian tourist and his family found on their path robbers ; 2 of them. Robbers took the 40 years old man’s back bag and then ran. The italian guy chased them. He grabbed one of them. Unfortunately, the robber pushed him in the stairs.
The 40 years old man were found deadly at the bottom of the stairs !
Because the sad thing happened in the metro, i thought that it is gonna be easy to find and identify those 2 culprits with all those cameras all over the network.
Anytime i use the metro, I just have to lift up my head and cameras are everywhere ! I feel safe.
Can you believe that in a station near by the Eiffel Tower, at the angle where it happened, no camera covered the area ???? It is completely unbelievable !
How will i convince that Paris is safe now ?
R.I.P
