(Densha = train ; Otoko = man >>> aka the Train Man lol)

After watching Sekai no Chuushin, … which was a sooooooo touching (and depressing lol) drama I looked forward for something different.
With my cousin’s recommandation I start watching Densha Otoko. Perfecto, it is a comedy !
Plus Itoh Misaki is in :p
She was the crazy girl in You’re Under Arrest, the attractive teacher in Gokusen. She also owns a grocery in Lunch Queen (staring Takeuchi Yuko ! @_@ )

Basically the story is about an otaku meeting a beautiful lady.
In some other words, it could be a contemporary “The Beauty and the Beast” story.

Oh, maybe you are wondering what an “otaku” is ?
Hmmmmm let say ……. in Japan, otaku is used to define a fan. But not all of them.
There is “fan” and “fan”. Otaku doesn’t refer to the “regular” fan.
Otaku refers to the fan “disconnected” from the real life. An otaku used to live as an hermit in his house/room. Barely go out or if he does, it is just to live his passion or meet anyone sharing the same hobby.
Mostly they are gamers, manga and anime fans, idols’ fan :D, collecting whatever refering to their idols, anime, … And in otaku’s world, woman are like ……….. from another world ; Otaku’s girls are the one from their mangas, anime, ….

How do they look like ?
It is gonna be a little stereotyped but they are like, you know, members of the chess club or math club ; huge glasses, last button of their shirt is attached, trousers a little bit short, huge backpack ……. lol Remember in the american teenage show in the 90′: Saved by the bell ?

Back to the drama itself.

How did both meet ?

A night, in the carriage, both lead to their places. Him, Yamada the otaku, sat in a bench and her, Aoyama the beauty, sat in the opposite bench.
She was reading Dan Brown’s best seller : Angels Demons. Yep she studied and lived abroad for a while ; she is also fluent in english. All those elements to tell us that she is clever contrary to Yamada lol. At least at first sight.

While Yamada “sighted-undress” (hahaha i have no idea if it is a correct idiom in english but translate in french it means something like “when you look at someone from head to feet”) the beauty in front of him, an annoying drunk man shown up and starting to be unpleasant towards the passengers.
You can easily imagine the scene, ugh ? insults, troubles, …. blablabla but no one said a word. When arrived Aoyama’s turn to be disturbed, is Yamada have guts enough to interpose himself to “protect” her ?

Of course Yamada moved his ass lol (otherwise the drama should end here ) but he had to think (more than) twice.
He stood up and interfered between Aoyama and the drunk man. He was nervous and shaked. No entire words came out from his mouth or hardly said phrases. Yep I could say first he stammed lol. He was not confident, nervous, … everything was out of control.
And of course what had to happen happened lol : the drunk man hit Yamada and the second after he was spread on the floor hahahaha Poor him

Anyway, his courage hasn’t been useless. The beauty asked Yamada’s address.

Back to his place, Yamada dashed on his computer and sign on in a board where he told about his story.

At first he didn’t really expected anything ; just to be read. Then people start to follow his thread. At first just a few but after a while, all Japan knew about Yamada’s story lol

His surname “densha” came from people on the board.

Basically that is how densha otoko’s story starts.

A couple of days after his first message on the board, Aoyama sent him a “thanks” gift : Tea cups from Hermes ; yep the same as the fashion designer brand
Since that day, Aoyama is been called “Hermes” on the board hahaha

The fisrt advice densha asked to the people on the board was after receiving the gift : “call her, call her not ?”

You know their answer, ugh ? ^_^

Of course he is gonna call. The story really starts when both gonna meet again for the second time. She didn’t know that he is an otaku. That night in the train, she didn’t had her contact lens lol

So that is the beginning of a “weird” story between an otaku and a beauty completly opposite.

Personnally, I had to go thru the 3 first episodes. During those, I just wanted to kick his ass more than once lol and wanted to grab my laptop and threw it away hahahahha

Yep that is one more drama/romance/comedy but as usual, it allows me to discover a little bit more Tokyo and its areas ^_^
Before to watch the drama, i knew about Akihabara. I did know that it is the place to shop the latest “new technology” stuff or that is the place to be for any geeks
But i didn’t know that Akihabara’s people and shibuya’s people do not “match” together haha Is that really true ?

There is a lot to say about this drama but if i do not post this billet right now, i guess i will never lol This ticket/billet is in stand by since a couple of weeks (3 weeks or so my bad lol) Believe me (once more :p ), the drama seems to be stupid and simple but it is very subtle.
There is a lot about the japanese society and stuff. But i’m so laazy SOOOOO LAZY hehehe

After a day in akihabara, it is time to yamada to go home ^_^
