More days are gone and more I’m curious to know how France is persued over our border.

2 events quite funny.

• Sunday 15 is “Pentecote” day and the day after, monday, used to be a day off.

But since summer 2003 where almost 15.000 people (mostly third aged people) died because of the heat, the government decided to make that day off a day none-off. By that way, some extra-taxes from that “new” day-work will be destinated to prevent and help third aged people. The government called that day “Solidarity day“.

What is funny ?

When the government decided this, nobody (workers) said anything. The incoming May 16th will be the first “Solidarity day” and a month before, it is kind of a scandal out here.

Work, not work ; that’s the deal.

Some will, some won’t. It seems like it is an “obligation” to work that day like an usual day (our prime minister confirmed it a couple of days ago). But … there is always a but … public company (or “state compagny” ? which term is the most appropriate ? i don’t know :-/ ) decided to finally make that day off. But to participate, they (big boss, ceo or whatever) said that all the employees of the company will work ….. 1 min 52 sec more each day ! So 2 min more every day during a whole year, in their way, they will done their contribution.

Hmmm let me say.
Quit your job at 5pm ? At 4h55p, go to the restroom ; stay in there and do whatever you want (shit ? :D) and get out at 5h02p. Do that everyday for a year. You have participated to the “Solidarity Day”
And nope, this is not a first of …. april

• The second funny thing ?

Still about the European Constitution. (read my previous billet here and here about it)

We have 5 weeks left to get decided and have our own opinion.

My opinion haven’t changed about the Constitution.
It is none sense to ask folks to vote about a such important thing and made a “text” readable only by politics and “law-folks”.
It is a huge headache to read it ; loosing 10 minutes per pages and won’t be able to uderstand 50% of the meaning :/
I have said it so in my previous note a couple of weeks ago but today, it is almost a argument to vote “No”. Vote “No” because it is a “none-sense” Text.

This is in total contradiction with our President’s words.
He said “The Parlement could vote the European Constitution by itself like a few European countries did. But because this is a such important decision, a Referendum will be setup. I want all Frenchs to have their word in it”.

If he was really cares, he should say the day the Constitution was written : “make it easier or simple ; it is destinated to the large audience”.

It is kinda surprising to hear that we currently have 50 / 50 (yes/no).
“Gauche” or “Droite” (Left and Right, our 2 mains politics parties) are favourable to the Constitution. Just minorities in both side are against.
They are pro Europe but con the present Text ; they will vote “no” to obtain a new negociation and “wish” (lol) to make the current Constitution “better” (re-lol)

But I do believe that they are totally wrong. We are now 25 and not just ourself. We won’t be able to change the Text by ourself (France by itself).
How do you want to change something by being apart ?!?! O_o

So a “Yes” will be better than a “No”.
If you read my previous billets, this is not any “propaganda” or whatever. You should know now that I don’t care at all since I’m planning to quit hahaha
They (politicians) lost so many times and haven’t done anything yet ; for me, it is too late. But who really cares ?
